CMP: Sustainability Platform

Steering the blue industry towards a greener horizon

Showcasing Copenhagen Malmö Port's journey through the Ocean Valley project, I crafted a dynamic branding and communication strategy to ignite sustainable transformation in the maritime sector—setting sail with a robust website that embodies the vision and paves the way for future innovation.

Project Title: Ocean Valley Website

Client/Company: Copenhagen Malmö Port

Date: Q4 2023

Objective: To assist Copenhagen Malmö Port in conveying their vision of fostering sustainable innovation within the maritime industry.

My Role: As a workshop facilitator and communication strategist, I spearheaded efforts to unify the project’s vision and strategy.

Approach/Strategy: The initiative aimed to assemble sustainability leaders and forge a collaborative hub in the Øresund region. Through initial workshops, I uncovered challenges within the Ocean Valley team, addressing them with a robust communication and early-stage branding strategy. This groundwork was essential for coherence, partner engagement, and funding acquisition.

Outcome/Results: Adopting an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) approach, I rapidly developed a website showcasing the project's key objectives. While this marked just the beginning, my ongoing involvement has seen the use of generative AI to visually depict core concepts like carbon capture and electrification, rendering the projects palpable ahead of their realization.

Reflection/Lessons Learned: The project underscored the critical role of early branding and strategic communication in energizing initiatives like Ocean Valley. By instilling a cohesive identity from the outset, we catalyzed dialogue and laid a solid foundation for future growth.

I used generative AI to create images for Ocean Valley's future projects. This AI made pictures from simple ideas, showing what these projects might look like. It helped people see and understand the big plans of Ocean Valley before they were built.

Using the double diamond design approach, I rapidly progressed the Ocean Valley project from early sketches to a fully functional website within a few weeks. This structured method consists of four phases: Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver.

In the discovery phase, we explored the project's possibilities without constraint. Then we defined the project's scope, honing in on specific goals. During development, we created and tested prototypes, continuously involving the client for feedback.

Finally, we delivered the finished website, a process that ensured client engagement and satisfaction with each step.
